We fit control to the geyser you have: Geyserwise, Geyserwala, Shelly, Elon or a relay on the GX. Temperature stays on the unit. The decision of when it may run sits with the site.
If you have Victron, AquaLoad can put surplus solar into heat in priority. That product lives on aqua-load.co.za. We install and test it on your GX.

The timer and thermostat a lot of tanks already have. We add a path so it can wait for surplus solar or take a boost from a phone or a Victron GX.
Geyserwala
Geyser control that lives on your LAN. Fits when you want the tank on the network without another cloud account.
Shelly
A relay and a temperature path on the circuit. Useful when hot water is part of a wider Home Assistant job.
Elon
Geyser control that already understands a solar site. We put it on the same job list as the rest of the house.
